Backend Developer

What You'll Be Working With Core Stack: - TypeScript (Node.js) for backend development - PostgreSQL for data persistence - AWS as our cloud foundation with proper environment separation - Serverless-first approach using modern AWS services - CDK for infrastructure as code - AI Integration via various APIs making AI capabilities accessible throughout our platform The Reality of Early Stage The Good: - Direct impact on product and technical decisions in the fintech space - Work with experienced founders and developers who've built successful financial products - Modern, well-architected tech stack from day one - Flexible, collaborative environment - Opportunity to grow with the company and shape the future of SMB financial management The Challenges: - Startup pace and changing priorities - Smaller team means wearing multiple hats - Early-stage uncertainty and resource constraints - Need for self-direction and problem-solving What We're Looking For - Strong experience with TypeScript/Node.js backend development - Solid understanding of serverless architectures and AWS services - Experience with PostgreSQL and database design - Familiarity with infrastructure as code (CDK preferred, but CloudFormation/Terraform experience transfers) - Experience with AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.) - we're building AI-powered tools with AI tools - Understanding of LLMs and ML beyond basics (valued but not required) - Startup mindset: adaptable, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity Location & Work Style Fully remote position - Our team spans multiple countries, and we've built effective remote collaboration practices. Finland-based candidates (especially Jyväskylä area) are welcome for occasional in-person collaboration, but remote work is fully supported and expected.
