Geotechnical Civil Engineer for CAM Plant Project, Kotka

We are looking for a Geotechnical Civil Engineer to join our clients China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. team for the Kotka CAM Plant project. China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC) is a world-renowned international contractor and a leading provider of comprehensive services across the entire industrychain for both public and private sectors. CHEC has been engaged as the main contractor for the CAM Plant project in Kotka, responsible for the implementation and construction of the plant. In this Geotechnical Civil Engineer role, you will be part of the design team that contributes to the successful execution of the project. The position is project-based, with an expected duration of approximately two years, and the work is located in Keltakallio, Kotka. Your responsibilities include: - Design management and coordination of municipal works (internal roads, site grading) and geotechnical aspects. - Review of municipal (internal roads, site grading) and geotechnical (geotechnical investigation reports, foundation) drawings and basic design documents. - Subgrade Inspection and Acceptance. - Responsible for on-site supervision of construction activities related to internal roads, site grading, earthworks, and foundation implementation; ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and project schedule. What we expect from you: - Bachelors or masters degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in municipal engineering and geotechnical projects, including design review and site supervision. - Strong understanding of internal roadworks, site grading, earthworks, and foundation systems; familiar with geotechnical investigation methods and documentation. - Proven experience with subgrade inspection, construction quality control, and adherence to project schedules. - Good communication skills and strong coordination ability with design teams, contractors, and other stakeholders. - Full professional proficiency in English.
