IT DATA MIGRATION ENGINEER We are seeking a tech-savvy and proactive IT Data Migration Engineer to join our global IT team in a permanent position based at our head office in Helsinki. Become a Lindströmer and help us make a difference! Your key contribution areas This hands-on role focuses on technical data migration and integration efforts in strategic M&A cases. Youll be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving our data migration tool and processes, strengthening our capabilities to support global growth. Your key responsibilities will include: - Leading the planning and execution of technical implementation of data migration activities between IT systems, software, and applications - Implementing and managing database systems - Designing and executing migration strategies for seamless integration of systems and data - Owning and configuring the Java-based data migration tool, and developing best practice standards and protocols - Collaborating with project stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and other data experts to ensure quality, consistency, and timely delivery What helps you to shine in this role? To thrive in this role, youll need: - Solid experience in data migration (software development background is a strong plus) - Proficiency in Java, Python and JavaScript - Hands-on experience with VS Code or Eclipse IDE, ability to write SQL queries (especially in PostgreSQL), and familiarity with version management tools like Git - Ability to work with SQL database services and virtual machines, as well as tasks such as setting up and managing development and test environments - Familiarity with API integrations, database queries, and file-based message exchange - High-level understanding of data, system, integration, and enterprise architectures - Comfort using modern AI tools to boost productivity - Awareness of data governance and security standards - Sharp analytical thinking and attention to detail - Excellent communication and collaboration skills - Fluency in English (written and spoken) - A relevant degree (minimum bachelors) Your key people Youll be part of our global IT organisation, specifically within the IT Development & Projects team of 12 professionals. In this role, youll collaborate closely with project managers, IT solution owners, and other stakeholders to drive successful data migration initiatives. Youll work hand-in-hand with our AI & Data Analytics team, which focuses on data mapping, cleansing, and quality – while you drive the technical migration and integration efforts, ensuring seamless transitions and robust data integrity.
