Summary Art in Tanzania is a self-sustainable non-profit charity NGO. We generate our funds from safari tour operations and the sale of environmentally friendly products.  Details  Art in Tanzania has been operating since 1996. Our community placements attract about 250 participants annually. Our vision is to give students hands-on experience working in developing African communities. In addition to your studies, you will have an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience of African culture and life, as well as fantastic natural scenery and wildlife. Our community-based programs empower local communities and individuals to thrive and succeed. Interns experience daily life in Tanzania while witnessing the growth of one of Africa's fastest-growing economies. Our business and marketing programs focus on training community entrepreneurship skills. We also focus on marketing volunteer placements, internships, safaris, and tours. You can assist with digital marketing, including web page development and SEO tasks, and help promote our program through social media coverage. Our management tasks include providing NGO management assistance and development, staff training to acquire new skills, and raising awareness about issues such as sustainability.  We use our social media pages for advocacy work. Our Facebook pages have over 50,000 followers. Interns work as part of a team of international and Tanzanian multi-professional students. We encourage innovation in the program approach. Organisational network development work is essential, as capacities are limited in Africa, and collaboration is beneficial.  Academic-level team leaders supervise your internship daily. We also monitor your progress in the study program using a weekly plan and a reporting system to ensure your work is on track. The internship outcome is learning to use and gaining experience implementing your education in developing-country conditions with limited capacity. Interns work in teams of international students and volunteer professionals to better understand the opportunities in a fast-growing economy. Work hours are 6 to 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. The program is ongoing, so the start dates are adjustable. Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests, empowering our daily work with the communities.  Daily tasks include practical fieldwork, planning, reporting, and visibility work. The start and end dates are flexible, as all programs are ongoing, with many having run since 1996. You and your visiting friends can enjoy low-cost, sustainable safaris and tours. We typically have 15-40 students from diverse parts of the world, representing over 400 universities with which we collaborate, as well as various professions. Note that Erasmus+ funding can be applied for the Tanzania training. Contact your student office for more information about the grants.
