Senior IC Design Engineer

We are seeking a Senior IC Design Engineer for a permanent position at our client company in Espoo. You will be recruited directly into the company. You can start working immediately or after the summer holidays. About the Role: We are looking for an experienced IC Design Engineer to join the team. In this role, you will be involved in developing MEMS-based products for the timing market and other applications. IC Design Engineer is a new position in the company. We are looking for a candidate who is willing to grow with the role as the IC team grows. Key Responsibilities: -Participate in ASIC development, including prototyping, design, testing -Innovate new product concepts with the new business development team and implement prototypes for fast evaluation of these concepts -Work closely with our MEMS team to define system-level specifications and integration strategies -Coordinate outsourced IC design tasks, manage MPW runs, and communicate with IC foundries -Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve project objectives Requirements: -MSc or equivalent degree in Electronics Engineering, Applied Physics, or related fields -At least 5 years of experience in analog IC design -Solid understanding of IC design processes, layout design, simulation tools, validation, and production testing: we are looking for a generalist rather than a specialist -Hands-on experience of design prototyping with discrete components -Experience in managing and coordinating outsourced IC design and manufacturing activities -Strong problem-solving skills with proven record of innovativeness -Self-motivated and proactive approach -Fluent English communication skills, capable of clearly discussing technical concepts We appreciate: -Familiarity with MEMS technologies and ASIC-MEMS integration -Experience in oscillator design, phase noise simulations, and related measurements -Knowledge of digital hardware (microcontrollers, FPGAs) -Experience transitioning IC designs from prototypes to production -Understanding of project management and agile practices (e.g., Scrum) For more information about the position, please contact Barona Engineering's Recruitment Manager Kristiina Vormala (040 837 4019), available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 13:00 to 14:00 starting April 22, 2025.
