About the role As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical design and analysis of Convion products and work as part of the Convion design team. Your main tasks include designing individual parts, creating manufacturing documents, sustaining product structures and data, and supporting product manufacturing and procurement. You will also lead concept design and product development projects in cooperation with both internal and external stakeholders. The job is located in Espoo (and later in Vantaa) and a hybrid working model is available after an introduction period. You can be a junior or a senior in a field, but the most important thing is your innovative, cooperative and problem-solving mindset. Work tasks Design Engineer is part of Convions design team and is responsible for the mechanical design of the companys products. The role includes creating and maintaining 3D product models and related 2D manufacturing drawings, as well as leading project-specific design work in close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities involve ensuring cost-effective manufacturability, product compliance and safety, and supporting production and procurement. The engineer also contributes to developing design processes and product data management, implements design improvements based on feedback, and stays up to date with industry developments. - Create and sustain product designs in 3D and manufacturing documents in 2D - Enable cost effective manufacturability of the product - Follow and develop Convion design procedures and product data management - Support product manufacturing and procurement - Validate created product designs, report and execute design improvements based on feedback from manufacturing and suppliers - Ensure product compliance and safety - Senior Design Engineer will also lead project specific design team to deliver product design in timely manner in cooperation with stakeholders. We are looking for - Degree in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering - Strong skills in CAD (SolidWorks & NX preferred), and PDM systems (Teamcenter is beneficial) - Understanding of product cost, quality, and manufacturability - Basic understanding of materials, fasteners and manufacturing methods - Fluent in spoken and written English It is meritorious if you have - Knowledge of FEM fundamentals - Experience in serial productization and product lifecycle management - Hands-on experience with high-temperature steel structures and materials - Background in cast part and welding design - Expertise in productization and industrialization - At least 12 years of working experience in a relevant field -Good spoken and written Finnish skills - To succeed in the role, you have: - Good communication and interpersonal skills - Good cooperation skills in an international environment - Great problem-solving skills - Analytical mindset - Our recruitment process - This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work and it is our clients wish that all questions regarding the position is directed to Academic Work.
