Mechanical Engineer

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Helsinki. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of advanced mechanical components for our directed energy systems. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical systems and components for directed energy and counter-drone defense systems. Perform detailed engineering analysis, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics. Create 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications using CAD software. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers. Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation of mechanical components. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues throughout the product lifecycle. Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and performance requirements. Support the development of the 70-acre test and demonstration facility in Helsinki. Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in defense, aerospace, or related industries. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA). Strong understanding of materials science, thermodynamics, and structural analysis. Experience with prototyping, testing, and validating mechanical systems. Knowledge of directed energy systems or laser technologies is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Fluent in English; proficiency in Finnish is an advantage.
