Position overview: We are looking for a hands-on, inquisitive, and self-driven person with a chemical industry and/or technical background ready to dive into the pioneering field of nanomaterial screen printing. We wish to find a colleague with strong expertise in carbon nanotube (CNT) technologies and processing within diverse reactive structures. As these technologies continue to evolve rapidly, we value a strong foundation in related technical and scientific disciplines, adaptability, and a proactive approach to learning. In this role, you will work on ramping up laboratory activities for commercial applications, taking pre-production equipment into use from installation to production together with the head of production. You will also be responsible for implementing new technologies while addressing real-world challenges and responding to customers needs and expectations. Key responsibilities: -Running a laboratory and pre-production: Overseeing the laboratory activities from the ramp-up until pre-production towards mass-production in full cooperation with the head of production -Product management: Overseeing the product development processes and ensuring the fit with the AI supported production management, ensuring efficiency, quality control, and adherence to industry standards -R&D: Building test set-ups and executing pilots to meet the customer needs, participating in the development of cutting-edge nanomaterials and screen-printing technologies -Project management: Managing multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful completion -Technical expertise: Developing proficiency in providing technical support and guidance on nanomaterials and screen-printing techniques, troubleshooting challenges, and implementing effective solutions -Team leadership: Growing into a role that guides and supports a team of laboratory professionals, engineers, technicians, and other professionals, cultivating a collaborative and innovative work culture -Quality assurance: Developing and implementing quality control protocols for the highest standards of product development practices to ensure excellent production performance and reliability -Documentation and reporting: Maintaining comprehensive records of laboratory and pre-production processes and R&D activities, following the teams performance, reporting to senior management as required -Continuous improvement: Continuously seeking out opportunities for making our products and production methods more planet-friendly with materials applications, process optimisation and cost reduction What you need: -Education: Strong technical background in chemical and/or materials engineering from laboratory to pre- and mass-production -Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the manufacturing or process industry, particularly in laboratory work and product development, would be considered an advantage -Financial acumen: Understanding cost-effective manufacturing strategies and contributing to the economic viability of Nordic Nanos products and solutions -Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively -Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail -Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex technical and chemical information clearly and concisely, German and Finnish is considered as an advantage -Innovation: A passion for innovation and continuous improvement in R&D processes and product development What would be a plus: -Strong knowledge of nanomaterials and their properties especially in CNT technologies and processing within diverse reactive structures, and applications in screen printing technologies -E.g. bachelors or masters degree in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, nanotechnology, or related field -Experience in R&D and running a laboratory and pre-production within the nanomaterials and/or screen-printing industry -Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a team of professionals Benefits: -Competitive compensation -Professional development opportunities with state-of-the art technologies -Entrepreneurial and innovative work environment -Purpose and value driven colleagues If you are a forward-thinking professional with expertise in nanomaterials and screen printing, ready to lead a team and drive innovation, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
